A new comedy heist film starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck will be coming to Apple TV+. Directed by Doug Liman, The Instigators sees father Rory, played by Matt Damon, and former criminal Cobby, played by Casey Affleck, who try and fail to pull off a robbery of the ill-gained earnings of a corrupt politician.
What unfolds is the pair pursued not only by police but also by corrupt officials and vengeful crime bosses. Written by Chuck MacLean and Affleck, The Instigators also features an extensive supporting cast led by Hong Chau, Michael Stuhlbarg, Alfred Molina, Ron Pearlman, and Ving Rhames.

A plot synopsis released by Apple TV+ reads: “Rory (Matt Damon) and Cobby (Casey Affleck) are reluctant partners: a desperate father and an ex-con thrown together to pull off a robbery of the ill-gained earnings of a corrupt politician. But when the heist goes wrong, the two find themselves engulfed in a whirlwind of chaos, pursued not only by police, but also backwards bureaucrats and vengeful crime bosses.
