Escape to the Country: Guests left emotional by stunning home

In the latest episode of Escape to the Country, a couple found themselves in disagreement over a charming thatched property.

On Wednesday's episode (August 7), Stephanie and Ollie, who had been living in London for a significant period, were on a mission to find their dream home in the English countryside, specifically in Wiltshire.

The pair were seeking a "complete lifestyle change" and a slower pace of life. However, when presenter Ginny Buckley introduced them to a property, the enthusiastic couple found themselves at odds, leading Ginny to offer some advice.

Standing outside the house, it was clear that Stephanie wasn't enamoured with the property. In contrast, Ollie expressed his fondness for thatched roofs, stating: "I like thatches, nothing wrong with thatches, as long as they are looked after and well kept. I think they're great!"

When asked about her thoughts on thatched roofs, Stephanie confessed: "I don't really know much about them I'll be honest. But I like the look of it, it's lovely."

However, even inside the house, Stephanie's feelings didn't seem to warm significantly. She commented: "I'm not convinced, I don't know. It's just not quite warm and homely. That's the vibe I'm getting."

Ginny suggested: "So I guess what you should perhaps do is go off and explore yourself. She added: "Have a wander, keep that open mind," reports Wales Online.

Later in the show, after touring three properties, Ginny asked Stephanie and Ollie if they had developed a fondness for any of the homes she had presented. Unexpectedly, the couple showed interest in the first house, a 1920's bungalow.

Intriguingly, the mystery house also sparked their curiosity. Detailing their future plans to Ginny, Stephanie and Ollie revealed that they intended to inquire about the two properties that had intrigued them and hopefully progress from there.

However, in an unexpected turn of events at the conclusion of the programme, it was disclosed that the vibrant young couple had an offer accepted on an entirely different property.

Located relatively near to the mystery house, the home chosen by Stephanie and Ollie provided more space.
