This Morning chaos as fans fume over 'unforgettable' Alison Hammond interview

This Morning has received criticism from viewers after deciding to air a retrospective clip of Alison Hammond's hilarious 2017 interview with Hollywood A-listers Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling.

The much-loved host became an internet sensation for making the two stars laugh uncontrollably while discussing their film Blade Runner 2049.

During Monday's episode (August 5) of the ITV daytime show, presenters Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle featured a portion of this iconic interview in a segment called "Alison's legendary look back."

But the move to replay the old footage hasn't sat well with audiences, prompting them to express their disapproval online.

Fans on social media were quick to voice their discontent. An annoyed viewer posted on what used to be known as Twitter: "Let's look back on something that came out seven years ago! " Another said: "Another repeat VT filler from years ago with Hammond."

A third remarked: "It's 'unforgettable' because you lot keep repeating it." One person quipped about the episode's content: "Must be a slow news week. Reshowing an old interview and there's not much else on the running order." And another chimed in with sarcasm, "I see they're short on content again on #ThisMorning."

Hammond herself once conceded that she was anxious she might be sacked after that uproariously tipsy interview with Harrison and Ryan, which saw them sharing laughs and whisky whilst occasionally touching on their blockbuster movie.

Reflecting on the side-splitting incident from over six years ago, the TV personality recounted her worry that she might lose her job over the uncontrollable giggles. "I thought, 'I'm going to get sacked'. I just laughed the whole way through," Alison admitted in a past interview with The Mirror. "At the end, Harrison came up to me and said, 'Alison, you've made my day today.'".

Despite the unforgettable encounter, Alison revealed that when she crossed paths with the Hollywood legend soon after, he seemed to have forgotten her.

She continued: "Then, a few days later, we did a Zoom interview and he didn't know who I was... didn't have a clue." However, their paths crossed again on This Morning in December 2022, where Harrison was discussing his latest project for Paramount+, the series 1923.

For this exclusive UK television interview, it was reported that Harrison specifically requested Alison to be the interviewer, a testament to the impression she had made during their previous meeting.
