Eamonn Holmes weighs in on Keir Starmer after UK riots

GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes questioned Prime Minister Keir Starmer's pledge to arrest everyone involved in the riots which have been happening across the country.

During Monday's instalment of the news programme, Holmes hit out at the Prime Minister, exclaiming: "He's got no prison places, he's got no police officers, he's got no cells to hold these people.

"It's just talk! I guarantee you there will not be the levels of arrest that we are led to believe."

"We are a country which believes in law and order and you have to come down on this stuff really hard," a GB News guest then told Holmes and his co-host Isabel Webster.

Webster replied: "That's really important, we are four weeks on from the General Election where people who have never voted Labour before, voted Labour."

She continued: "I was told last week that people voted for Labour because they wanted law and order..." The guest replied: "This is the real test for Starmer, the real test."

Holmes interjected with a cutting response: "It's a real test, which he ain't gonna pass!"

The Northern Irish broadcaster added: "As to what will change, goodness knows!"

Starmer has said the rioters targetting people because of their skin colour would be swiftly convicted, adding "all right-minded thinking people should condemn" the disorder.

Downing Street is expected to hold an emergency response meeting today after "thugs" tried to storm hotels asylums seekers were being housed in on the sixth day of anarchy.

Starmer promised rioters would "regret" engaging in "far-right thuggery" and said those involved would "face the full force of the law".

Violence has been breaking out in parts of the country following the murders of three young girls in Southport last week.

Last night, anti-immigration rioters smashed the windows of the Holiday Inn Express in Rotherham before starting fires.

At least 10 police officers were injured in the attack, with one being knocked unconscious.

Masked protestors lobbed wood, chairs and bottles at officers standing outside the building, with South Yorkshire Police stating 700 had gathered.

A similar incident played out at a Holiday Inn hotel in Tamworth that evening and there were similar acts of violence in Middlesbrough and Bolton.

GB News with Eamonn and Isabel airs on weekday mornings.
