Fans who tuned into the first day of the Paris 2024 Olympics have already been left "fed up" over the BBC coverage. During the Women's Diving, viewers complained that the commentators were doing "too much talking."

Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen claimed the Women's 3m Synchro Bronze medal for Team GB. The British pair had 12 points to make up on Australia during the final round.

But, the Aussies did a horror dive and they failed to score enough points to stay in the top-three. This meant that Yasmin and Scarlett ended with a bronze medal in dramatic fashion.

As fans were delighted with the win, the BBC then did an in-depth analysis of the diving. Former diver Tonia Couch said: "Every dive counts and Australia could have got a medal."

However, fans were less than impressed and demanded that they were missing key coverage of other sports. One person took to X and said: "Someone tell the BBC the Olympics are on. They’ve turned it into a talk show #BBCOlympics."

A second person also chimed in: "BBC, can we have some actual sport. We don't need all this talking drivel. #BBCOlympics." A third person also said: "You need to stop all the talking and play the sports!! #BBCOlympics."

A fourth person also complained: "Where is the swimming? #BBCOlympics GB and Worlds greatest ever breaststroke swimmer is competing and there is no coverage. Come on BBC."

A fifth also wrote: "There is ALWAYS way too much time talking in the studio when the bbc sports covers any event !! #BBCOlympics."

A sixth penned: "Can’t watch anymore of this constant talking !! Show us some sport ffs, looks like the cricket for me #BBCOlympics."

The BBC is no longer the Games' primary broadcaster and is only showing coverage on two channels. The BBC is also running an Olympics Extra channel on iPlayer, however they won't be showing all sports and medal ceremonies.

There is further coverage on Discovery+, as well as Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2. Discovery+ states it will ‘stream every medal and every moment’ and fans can pay £3.99 for an Olympic Games package.
