A Place in the Sun: Couple rule out Costa Blanca property

A Place in the Sun's Jee Juggurnauth had a rocky start when a couple decided to abandon a viewing midway, without even seeing the entire property.

Sarah and Justin were on the hunt for their dream home in Greece's Peloponnese peninsula, but the first house they were shown didn't meet their expectations. Sarah instantly dismissed it as "too modern", while a particular feature of the building made Justin uncomfortable.

Referring to the sagging ceiling, he confessed: "The bow in the ceiling would give me a few palpitations."

Sarah concurred, saying: "It's a bit of a worry. I think it's a really odd layout the screen/wall I'm not feeling that."

Hoping to salvage something positive, Lee asked: "What about the open plan living/kitchen area? I know you said you wanted all of your family to come together... can you picture yourself cooking, having a glass of wine with the family?", reports the Mirror.

However, Sarah responded: "I don't think the space itself would work. It's too small for the extended family."

The final straw was the first bedroom.

While Sarah acknowledged it was "spacious", she pointed out: "It's not really a room though. Because it's not got a door. There's a big space there."

Lee suggested: "It's a very modern twist to a bedroom."

But Justin disagreed, stating: "The separation just doesn't feel right for us. If we'd had a massive barny, then yeah. They don't last longer than a month and then we start talking to each other."

On sensing the evident displeasure, Lee inquired: "Would you like to have a look at the rest of the property?" yet Sarah promptly interjected: "No, not at all."

Lee then realised the futility, remarking: "This really isn't working for you, is it?" as the couple abruptly ceased the viewing and left, with Sarah conceding that she found both the "outside and the inside" unappealing.

Other properties also fell short of their expectations, with Sarah condemning one kitchen as "dated" whilst Justin was mesmerised by the scenery from another property in Greece. The tension between them was increasingly palpable, with Sarah declaring that in case of an argument, she would commandeer the upstairs bedroom, leaving Justin relegated to "downstairs in the garage again".
