This Morning: Alison Hammond hugs co-star as he confirms return
During Tuesday's (July 22) heartfelt episode of This Morning, Alison Hammond couldn't hold back her emotions as she embraced Joel Dommett in a farewell hug.
The pair had formed a close bond after Joel temporarily filled in for Dermot O'Leary, who usually co-hosts with Alison on the popular ITV show.
Dermot had announced his short break from the show last week, leaving Joel to step into his shoes for Monday and Tuesday.
Despite a mixed reception from viewers about the new hosting duo, Joel assured fans he would be back on the sofa again. As the show drew to a close, Joel declared: "On tomorrow's This Morning, Dermot is back and Nadine Baggott is here with her melt-proof make-up must-haves."
Alison then chimed in with excitement: "I catch up with my old friends Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds," veering off-script to personally thank Joel once more.

The former Big Brother contestant expressed her gratitude: "It's been a lovely couple of days, thank you so much," reports the Mirror.
Joel, known for his stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, responded graciously: "I've had the best time thank you for having me." He quickly concluded, mentioning: "I'll be back in the summer with Rochelle [Humes] as well."
As the camera pulled away, viewers witnessed Alison holding onto Joel in a heartfelt embrace, marking the end of their brief on-air partnership.
On Twitter, reactions to Alison Hammond and Joel Dommett co-hosting This Morning have been decidedly mixed. Some viewers are so put off by the duo that they're switching off their TVs.
One viewer tweeted:"Turn on ITV, see Joel and Alison, turn off TV," while another shared similar sentiments: "Not about today, having to pace myself with the show presenters this week. #thismorning."
