WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Jetty.

Jenna Coleman's latest drama, The Jetty, has been a hit with fans who are eagerly awaiting the conclusion of Detective Ember Manning's story.

The four-part series kicked off with Jenna Coleman's character, Detective Ember Manning, investigating a fire at a boathouse that quickly spiralled into a complex case.

Episode four will air tonight, Monday, July 22, on BBC One, but for those who couldn't wait, the entire box set is already available on BBC iPlayer.

How does The Jetty end?

Ever since a bone belonging to Amy Knightly (Bo Bragason), a girl who disappeared 17 years ago, was found in the fire, Ember has been trying to solve her murder.

She initially suspected her late husband Mack (Tom Glynn-Carney) might have been involved in Amy's death, given their secret relationship prior to Amy's disappearance.

In episode three, Ember was arrested for perverting the course of justice after concealing this information from her colleagues. However, she was soon released on bail and resumed her investigation.

Ember uncovers the true murderer of Amy

A flashback reveals that Mack was planning to break up with Amy when Ember discovered Rohypnol in his pocket, which he told her she could keep.

Following an argument with her friend Caitlin (Laura Marcus), Amy returned to the boathouse where Mack attempted to end their relationship. As they quarrelled, his half-brother Joe (Ryan Dean) drove away in his car.

Meanwhile, Ember and Arj (Matthew McNulty) were indulging in a drug-fuelled session at a pub when Mack called his wife for a lift.

During the drive, with Ember at the helm, she accidentally hit Amy who darted into the path of the car. However, Mack lied, claiming they had struck a log.

In an attempt to shield Ember, Mack persuaded a still drug-addled Arj that he was the driver and needed his assistance to locate Amy's body and bury it beneath the boathouse.

Who was responsible for Riz's death?

Arj was the one who set the boathouse ablaze, fearing that Amy's remains would be unearthed during renovations by the new owners.

Regrettably, one of Amy's bones was incinerated in the fire, prompting a fresh investigation into her demise.

Podcaster Riz was probing Amy's murder when she discovered the bone and had her private investigator photograph it before Ember confiscated it.

Aware that she possessed this photo, Arj stole her laptop which Riz traced back to the boathouse.

However, an audio recording from her murder included the sound of a boat at the boathouse, leading Ember to realise that it was actually Arj who murdered Riz.

The end of Arj

Arj, harbouring secret feelings for Ember, sought to bury their secrets once and for all. When she refused, he strangled her until she lost consciousness.

Upon regaining consciousness, Ember found herself on the jetty with Arj dousing himself in petrol. As he ignited himself, she managed to crawl into the water, narrowly escaping death.

Ember contemplated handing herself over to the authorities, but after revealing her actions to an adult Caitlin, she concluded that no justice would be served by leaving her daughter and going to jail.

Instead, Ember maintained that Arj was indeed Amy's killer.

Will there be a season 2 of The Jetty?

Despite its popularity among viewers, there has been no announcement regarding its continuation.

The BBC has not yet confirmed whether the Jenna Coleman series will return for a second season, leaving fans in suspense about the fate of Ember's story.

The Jetty is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
