BBC Two viewers who tuned into the first night of BBC Proms 2024 couldn't resist commenting on presenter Clive Myrie's appearance while he was covering the event from a studio.
Presenters Clive and Sandi Toksvig kicked off eight weeks of world-class music at the Royal Albert Hall this evening (Friday, July 19), with Elim Chan conducting the opening night of the coveted event.
The all-female line-up for the evening featured the likes of soprano Sophie Bevan, pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason and conductor Elim.
They were all joined by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Singers and BBC Symphony Chorus for the glittering event.
However, fans were left distracted by Clive's choice of attire for the programme as the 59-year-old donned a red neckerchief which was paired with a bright yellow shirt.
The Mastermind host wore a black suit over the open-buttoned yellow collared top and completed the bold outfit with yellow trainers.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer remarked: "Clive Myrie doing this dressed as Harry H Corbett in Steptoe and Son? #BBCProms."
A second commented: "Clive Myrie looks like he should be driving a team train whilst waving cheerily to the Famous Five as they set off on an adventure. #BBCProms."
Another added: "Clive Myrie has gone to the Proms dressed as Mighty Mouse #proms."

Meanwhile, someone else asked: "Who the f**k dressed Clive Myrie?"
Other viewers adored Clive's outfit, with one penning: "Loving Clive's get-up.#BBCProms #Proms2024."
Another penned: "Clive Myrie does like his 'Liza Minnelli wore this back in 1981 in Arthur' neck scarf. #BBCProms."
Ahead of the opening night of The Promes, director David Pickard told News Letter: “This year’s Proms season is one of the most ambitious we have ever presented.
"With a total of 90 concerts, audiences can look forward to the starriest international artists and orchestras in a programme that encompasses the very best in classical and orchestral music.
“Our national reach is now wider than ever, with 17 Proms taking place across the UK, including weekend-long residences in Bristol, Gateshead and Nottingham… and I hope audiences will find much to enjoy this summer.”
