This Morning's Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary gave viewers a refreshing change of scenery on Friday, July 19, as they took the show's iconic blue sofa outside to bask in the glorious sunshine at the Television Centre's courtyard in White City.
The pair were joined by Gyles Brandreth and Isla Traquair to delve into the day's hot topics. However, it wasn't long before Gyles' outfit became the talk of Twitter, with his penchant for novelty knitwear raising eyebrows and concern in the sweltering heat.
Gyles, 76, seemed unfazed by the rising mercury levels, donning a jumper emblazoned with a shirt and tie design, prompting This Morning fans to flock to Twitter, voicing their worries that he might succumb to the heat.
One viewer posted: "How is Gyles not sweating buckets? #thismorning," while another pondered: "Gyles in a jumper, how is he not melting? #ThisMorning."
A third chimed in: "Morning Gyles - a tad warm for a jumper," reports the Mirror.
One bemused fan even reached out directly, saying: "I was just about to say 'very smart' because I thought you were wearing a jumper shirt and tie! Now I see it's an all-in-one. Still very smart but what happens if you get too warm?!"
As the programme commenced, Alison and Dermot didn't miss the chance to comment on their al fresco setup, acknowledging the heatwave that prompted this delightful deviation from the norm.
Kicking off the show, Dermot O'Leary announced: "Welcome to Friday's This Morning and the sun is shining in the TV centre."
Alison Hammond joined in, adding: "Today is expected to be the hottest day of the year so far, temperatures are expected to reach 32 degrees in London."
Despite Gyles appearing comfortable in his jumper, it was Isla who expressed concern over a potential wardrobe malfunction. When asked by Alison if she was enjoying the new setting, Isla admitted: "I haven't had the problem of my dress blowing up before."
Alison humorously responded: "We'll keep the shots high!"
Throughout this week, viewers have seen Alison and Dermot take the reins on This Morning, in addition to their regular Friday appearances. This comes as the usual hosts, Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, enjoy their summer holiday, with plans to return on September 2.
