Sarah Parish branded 'unrecognisable' after huge transformation for new role

Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond were taken aback by Sarah Parish's transformation for her latest role, as she joined them on the This Morning couch to discuss ITV's upcoming comedy 'Piglets', set to premiere on Sunday.

Alison introduced their esteemed guest, remarking: "Sarah is playing a new police officer in her latest series except this time things are very different."

As they settled in, Sarah shared insights into her character and the premise of the show. She detailed: "So Piglets is a half an hour comedy about six wannabe police officers who navigate their way through police training school.

"And myself and the actor, Mark Heap are...he is so brilliant. He is a superintendent so you have to train him."

"It was a joy to work on, especially since it comes from the creators of Green Wing and Smack the Pony, so it carries that distinctively absurd, comedic flair," reports the Mirror.

Alison couldn't contain her surprise, exclaiming: "You are unrecognisable, I can't believe it."

Sarah chuckled, attributing it to: "It's a good wig."

The conversation continued with Alison asking: "Did you have any input on the creation of that character?"

Sarah confirmed with a nod, elaborating: "I did. I had a really strong idea of who I thought Judy would look like and I figured she would probably have watched Juliette Bravo when she was younger."

Viewers were equally astounded by Sarah's makeover for the show, with social media buzzing with reactions.

One fan praised: "Sarah Parish is fab, she looks so different from when she was in Trollied #ThisMorning."

"#ThisMorning Thought it was Ms Jenna for a moment," a second remarked.

Another perplexed fan chimed in, "OMG she looks so different."

Controversy has struck ITV ahead of the debut of their new comedy show, 'Piglets'. The Police Federation didn't hold back, releasing a statement that made clear their position on the controversial title.

Acting National Chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales Tiffany Lynch called the choice of the name 'Piglets' for the series an affront to officers.

"The new ITV show titled 'Piglets' is highly offensive to police officers risking their lives to protect the public every day by providing an emergency service. It is a disgusting choice of language to use for the title of a TV programme," Tiffany began.

"Our colleagues are working hard and keeping people safe under relentless negative pressure at the moment, insulting our new in-service officers is unhelpful. The name of this show is also inflammatory against a landscape of rising threats and violence against officers.

"We should not be put at further risk for viewing numbers, our officers deserve respect, not humiliation for the job they are undertaking."

In a further comment, she highlighted the potential hazards: "It is actually incredibly dangerous to incite more negativity and misinformation against a public sector service that's already under so much pressure."
