Arne Slot resisted the temptation to spend big in the summer transfer window and appears to have been vindicated for his decision.

The 26-year-old, who netted his first goal of the season against West Ham yesterday, wants to go to Madrid and has agreed his transfer to Real. He just needs to put pen to paper on his contract, according to the report.
Man Utd eye Amorim reunion
Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a reunion between Ruben Amorim and Nuno Mendes. The duo spent almost 18 months together at Sporting after Amorim took charge of the club, with the left-back then securing a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021.
Writing in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter, Fabrizio Romano has insisted that United plan to sign a left-back in 2025 and appreciate 22-year-old Mendes.
But he has also claimed that the Red Devils like the look of other left-backs as well.
