Jane McDonald gets emotional during visit to church

Jane McDonald was moved to tears during a visit to a cathedral while filming a festive special of her Channel 5 series.

In a Christmas episode of Cruising with Jane McDonald, available on My5, the former Loose Women star embarked on a Nordic Christmas adventure aboard the Norwegian Coastal Express.

Starting in Bergen, she came across a swimming Santa, a Viking feast, and the breathtaking Arctic Cathedral. However, it was a performance by choir master Harald at the cathedral that brought the singer to tears.

She expressed: "For me, Christmas is about friends and family, those you love and those you've lost. It's a bit emotional so I'm crying just like I thought I would. In an attempt to halt her tears in front of Harald, Jane said: "Sorry I must think of something" before fanning her face and saying: "credit card bill, credit card bill, credit card bill. That's much better now.

"Jane went on to say: "How beautiful. And the acoustics are just perfect and your voice here. I'm still crying, I'm so sorry. That's emotional, hearing that," reports Lancs Live.

To which Harald responded: "It's a Christmas Carol. " She replied: "Yes, beautiful."

Harald then introduced Jane to organist Linda, who was playing the instrument from the balcony. Jane couldn't resist having a go herself and described the experience as 'a privilege'."

Jane has left her fans in high spirits with the announcement of her latest career venture. Taking a delightful shift from screen to audio, she's all set to spread Christmas joy on the airwaves.
