Fans of BBC's Return to Paradise were in awe to see a familiar face this evening (December 20) as the much-loved crime drama returned for a brand new episode. They spotted a fan favourite star from Australian soap Neighbours.
Peter O'Brien made an appearance on the BBC spin-off show. Neighbours fans will remember him best as soap heartthrob Shane Ramsay nearly from nearly 40 years ago.
While many fans recognised the star, they also pointed out how different he looked - noting that he was looking really good for his current age of 64.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one viewer wrote: "You realise you are getting old when you see how much Shane Ramsay (Peter O'Brien) has aged from his Neighbours days. #ReturnToParadise."
"Artie is played by Peter O'Brian he played Shane Ramsey in #Neighbours hoped to see some Ramey Street Alumni in #returntoparadise."
"There's no way Shane Ramsay is 65 years old #ReturnToParadise," to which someone else replied in shock, writing: "WHAT?!? I thought he was in his 50s."
One more person added: "Wow he's looking good remember him in neighbours! wow #returntoparadise #neighbours."
Peter was one of the original characters in Neighbours, joining the 1985 cast alongside characters like Scott (Jason Donovan) and Charlene (Kylie Minogue), Paul (Stefan Dennis), Madge (Anne Charleston) and Harold (Ian Bishop), not to mention Henry (Craig McLachlan), Scott's friend Mike (Guy Pearce) and Plain Jane Superbrain (Annie Jones).

In Death in Paradise, the actor took on the role of Artie O'Farrell - a pariah who accused home team captain Ted Haddon of cheating. The show follows DI Mackenzie Clarke (Anna Samson) and her sidekick Colin Cartwright (Lloyd Griffith) attempt to solve Dolphin Cove's latest murder.
Friday's episode saw the duo investigate the death of a man who was killed in broad daylight during a quiet afternoon of lawn bowls.
The seemingly quiet afternoon of lawn bowls soon turned into to chaos when shots rang out from an antique ornamental bushranger's gun - resulting in a fatality. There are four people in the frame for the crime, including Ted, but all seem to have plausible alibis.
