Maya Jama has strongly denied the rumours that she is stepping down from her role as the host of Love Island.
The 30 year old TV star, who took over from Laura Whitmore in January 2023, had previously expressed that hosting the show was a dream come true.
However, it was reported that insiders suggested that Maya may depart from the show next summer. Speculation was rife that Maura Higgins, a former Love Island and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! contestant, could have be her successor.
Maya has clapped back online with a strong statement, saying that the rumours are 'fake news.' Taking to her Instagram story, she posted: "I will be hosting love island next year & have no plans to leave right now.
"Filmed the promo a couple of days ago actually. Fake news is fake news-ing as usual," completed with a heart emoji.

Earlier this week, an inside source divulged to The Sun: "Maya adores hosting Love Island and thinks it's a great fit for now. But she's keen to leave on a high and keep her career moving forward on the right tracks. She is incredibly ambitious and would like to keep focusing on primetime presenting opportunities."
"She also has hopes of working in America and doesn't want to be tied down. She has been building up her skills as a presenter and is very much part of the Love Island family."
This comes as Maya celebrated earning £2.5m last year, making her one of the UK's top TV personalities. As the face of ITV's Love Island and its spin-off show, the Bristol star recently graced screens presenting Comic Relief and the annual BRIT Awards.
In similar news, Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have sparked speculation that they could be rekindling their romance after being seen together for the first time since announcing their split.
The Love Island stars, who met on the ITV show in 2019, shared their blossoming romance and joyous life events, including Bambi's birth in January last year and their engagement, through social media.
However, fans were left reeling when the pair announced their split in August this year after five years together. There are rumours that they may be mending their relationship following their recent outing together - the first since their unexpected break up announcement.
The duo was spotted taking Bambi to a soft play centre in Cheshire on Saturday, both dressed casually for the winter weather. Photos obtained by MailOnline show the former couple enjoying the weak winter sunshine with their daughter before parting ways in separate Mercedes vehicles.
