Dianne Buswell's first ever celebrity partner on Strictly Come Dancing has quipped about how "young and nervous" she was during her first season on the BBC Saturday night flagship show.
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here star Richard Coles was paired with the antipodean dancer as she made her show debut in 2017. While they were the second couple voted off that year Dianne has since become one of the shows most successful hoofers and won this years show with blind comedian Chris McCausland.
Ahead of the final Richard contributed to an Instagram story for Dianne's management company MVE Management where he recalled their own experience on the dancefloor.
"Hi Di, Revo here," he opened, "remembering that time not so long ago, when you were a young, nervous professional dancer stepping onto the Strictly floor for the first time, and everything I did for you then"
"Well, what a journey you've been on - you and Chris. And you're in the final again, and it's been an amazing thing to watch. You're and inspiration Di. You too, Chris," he said before wishing them luck for the final and sending them lots of love.
Dianne and celebrity partner, comedian Chris McCausland made history with their win as he was the show's first ever blind contestant to lift the glitterball trophy.
They both broke down in tears as the winner was announced, with their co-stars rushing to congratulate them.
After learning he had won the competition, an emotional Chris said: "It's astonishing."
Chris was lost for words as he continued: "I don't know what to say. I honestly thought I would go out in the first week or two. I know no one went out in the first week but I thought I still could. We've just lasted and lasted."
Speaking about his partnership with Dianne, Chris declared: "She's got so much out of me and she deserves this so much. She is one of the easiest people to be funny with that I've ever met."
The Liverpool-born star joked: "Unless she changes her number she's stuck with me."
He added: "This is for her and it's for everyone out there that got told they couldn't do something or thought they couldn't do it. It shows that opportunity, support and determination means anything can happen."
Dianne quipped: "Chris says that this is for me but it's not for me. It's for me and you, Chris. We did this together. We did it!"
