Playing Nice official trailer
James Norton is set for a thrilling comeback to our screens as he takes the helm in ITV's new psychological thriller, Playing Nice, and fans have been given an exciting sneak peek.
The Happy Valley actor will be joined by a stellar cast including Niamh Algar of Channel 4's The Virtues fame, James McArdle from HBO's Mare of Easttown, and Jessica Brown Findlay, known for starring in Downton Abbey.
Though initial snapshots of Norton and Algar's characters had already sparked interest, the latest batch of images provides a deeper dive into the ensemble's dynamics, showcasing the actors immersed in their roles and offering further peeks at the leading duo.
Set amidst the stunning backdrop of Cornwall's dramatic coastline, where filming unfolded earlier this year, Playing Nice promises to be a visual treat.
The series springs from the creative mind of Grace Ofori-Attah, known for ITV's Malpractice, and adapts JP Delaney's acclaimed novel for the small screen, reports Cornwall Live.
At the heart of Playing Nice lies a harrowing tale of two families entangled in a nightmarish scenario when they learn that their young sons were mistakenly swapped at birth due to a hospital blunder. Faced with an agonising decision, they must choose between the children they've nurtured and their biological offspring.
As the plot thickens, "hidden motives are at play" emerge, casting doubt on the trust between the couples and driving Pete (played by Norton) and Maddie (portrayed by Algar) to the brink.
In an intriguing turn of events, it initially appears that all four parties have found a common ground for a solution, only to uncover motives shrouded in secrecy. As suspicions rise, questions emerge about the trustworthiness of the childs 'true' parents and even among each other.
Pete and Maddie find themselves pushed to the edge, realising they are prepared to go to any lengths to ensure their family remains intact.
