BBC Breakfast fans couldn’t help but point out one disappointing addition to the beloved morning show.
During Monday’s visit (December 2) to the BBC studio, Sally Nugent and Jon Kay woke up the nation with the biggest news stories hitting the headlines.
This included the ongoing scandal following Gregg Wallace’s axe from MasterChef and the raise of awareness surrounding spiking in the UK.
But over the weekend, the famous studio received quite the festive makeover, with several Christmas trees now present on set.
However, many fans were disappointed by the new decorations as they flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their complaints online.
One user fumed: “The Christmas tree in the studio is winding me up, not much of an effort been made there #BBCBreakfast.”
Another agreed: “Frigging hellfire... that’s not much of a Christmas tree behind the sofa, last years was much better [cringing emoji] #BBCBreakfast.”
A third echoed: “Tree looks naff and drab... needs some lights #BBCBreakfast” as a fourth quipped: “The BBC have splashed out again on a Christmas tree [cry-laughing emoji] #BBCBreakfast.”
It comes after Jon ruffled some feathers when he shared his controversial opinions on Christmas traditions on the morning news show.
Last week, the conversation shifted to Christmas when a bubbly Sally was taken aback as Jon expressed his discontent with her early yuletide cheer.
During a chat about a Christmas tree throwing contest in East Sussex, Sally disclosed her plans to erect her Christmas tree ahead of schedule this year.
Sally quipped: "You've got to be pretty cross to be theowing your tree that far" to which Jon chuckled: "I'm pretty cross that you're thinking about putting your tree up so early!"
Surprised by his reaction, she exclaimed: "Are you? Why?" as Jon suggested the broadcaster should "wait a bit". But the brunette beauty stood her ground, replying: "Why? Why not enjoy the whole od December.
"Every time you come home, you feel a bit Christmassy. You're being a bit of a humbug here, Jon!" He conceded, admitting: "Every year older I get a bit more grumpy about Christmas."
BBC Breakfast airs everyday from 6am on BBC One or catch up on BBC iPlayer.
