Janette Manrara heads to London for Strictly recording
Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara has issued a defiant message after viewers called for her to be axed and replaced on the hit BBC dance series.
Janette is a former dancer on the show who now shares presenting duties of the spin-off show Strictly It Takes Two on BBC2 with co-host Fleur East, with whom she alternates days.
However, a vocal minority of fans called for Fleur to be made the full time host after praising her presenting and interviewing style this week in chats with the likes of Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkis.
The fans had called for Fleur to replace Janette full time.
@metroline10 said: “Fleur is an easier watch than janette marara, get rid of janette and have fleur as the presenter #ItTakesTwo.”
@tvreality93 said: “Say it again fleur is much better on this than Janette #ItTakesTwo”
@sylviathomo added: “Oh foff, can't we have Fleur all week please?! #ItTakesTwo”.(sic)
But this afternoon, Janette posted to her Instagram with a defiant message from behind the scenes as she prepared to return to the show for Wednesday evening's edition of the programme on BBC2.
The former Strictly pro said in a video message posted to her story: “Guess where I am? It Takes Two baby."
She then asked a producer nearby how long there was left to go as she added: "Two weeks left of It Takes Two. That flew by didn’t it. What a series."
Janette, rocking a loose blouse and leather trousers, then returned at 6.30pm to interview Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe about taking yet another trip to the bottom two on Sunday, where they were saved by all four judges who opted to send Jamie Borthwick home instead.
Some fans then backed Janette and said they want her to continue helming the show.
Strictly It Takes Two is on BBC2 at 6.30pm eveery weekday with either Janette Manrara or Fleur East.
