Keir Starmer responds to General Election petition
Sir Keir Starmer appeared on This Morning alongside hosts Cat Deeley and Andi Peters yesterday to discuss a now-viral petition urging another general election.
However, despite his efforts to come across in a positive light to viewers, some noticed a rather "unsettling" response he gave towards the end of his segment.
In a clip shared on X, the Prime Minister can be seen laughing along with Andi before thinking the camera is off him and changing his expression to a more serious one.
Taking to the comment section, loyal fans of the programme shared their thoughts over the awkward exchange.
One said: "I think he just stopped laughing because it wasn’t funny."

Another replied: "He was so uncomfortable. As if he was forced to do this show to appear 'human'. Fail."
A third typed: "Still needs a bit of media training."
While a fourth remarked: "You know, Keir had to have had literally lessons on how to smile before doing this."
However others defended Sir Keir as they remarked how Andi asking him to come back and cook was not that humorous.

One said, "And the conclusion I've reached is: He can do no right by some. Meanwhile, I’m thrilled to have an adult in charge who is not frightened to make unpopular decisions for the betterment of the nation."
Another replied: "I'd be hard-pressed to laugh at anything Andi Peters says."
A third shared: "Andi Peters and Kat Deeley (both former kids show presenters) are now on TV to represent the UK people's voice?! Oh sh**! Hard experienced political journalists…I think not."
And a fourth added: "He didn't realise he was on CBeebies."
During their chat with the PM, Deeley highlighted something he said while appearing on This Morning. She said: "You promised your kids a dog!"
Laughing awkwardly, he told the ITV star he was negotiating with them. He replied: "After much negotiation, we got a Siberian kitten, white with blue eyes, which is beautiful."
The This Morning host wondered what Larry, the cat often seen outside the door of Number 10, thought of the new arrival. Starmer confessed they had yet to introduce one another.
He replied: "I'm worried that Larry will come off the better!" The conversation then turned to the festive season, as the duo wondered what the Prime Minister's plans were for Christmas.
Sir Keir confessed he cooks and enjoys it, finding it relaxing. He then revealed he wanted to use Phil Vickery's roast potatoes recipe at home. Phil replied, "OK, on the proviso that you come and cook with me here."
