Emmerdale's Ross Barton (played by Mike Parr) is set for a heartbreaking ordeal as he is forced to return to a place intimately connected to his past.
Next week, April (Amelia Flanagan) is kidnapped by Jade (Twinnie-Lee Moore) as punishment for the £10,000 going missing. Realising what Jade is capable of, Ross goes alone to rescue April, despite not being in possession of the missing money.
After receiving a location pin from Jade, Ross is overwhelmed with dread upon realising he is headed to the place where Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth) died.
Haunted by flashbacks of her death, Ross is terrified to find April, Donna's daughter, tearfully held near the edge of a car park by one of Jade's men.
Opening up about Ross being forced to return to the very place where he watched his first love die, Mike said: "It’s hugely traumatic for him.

"It brings back the worst memories, seeing somebody die, especially the first girl who’s ever loved you and your first experience with love."
Mike opened up about the bond Ross shares with Donna's daughter as he continued: "Ross has a great connection with April due to her being Donna’s daughter, it’s really stressful for him.
"He feels like he’s some sort of big brother, paternal figure in her life, even though he hasn’t seen her for a little while. It is largely down to his relationship with Jade to why this happens, even though it’s not his fault that the money goes missing. He still feels responsible for it."
Back in 2014, Donna returned to the village after five years away and found out she was terminally ill with lung cancer.

Despite this, Donna began a relationship with Ross. They came into contact with a criminal named Gary North, who regularly threatened to harm April.
The storyline came to a dramatic conclusion when Donna ended up on the top of a multi storey car park with Gary, who threatened to shoot Ross and harm April once again if she did not let him go.
Donna told Ross that she loved him and then took what she saw as the only way out of the horrifying situation.
Knowing that she only had months to live, Donna handcuffed herself to Gary and pulled him over the top of the car park, killing them both.
