This Morning: Phil Vickery labels Andi Peters as 'childish'

On the latest instalment of This Morning, ITV audiences were treated to an unusual presenting pair. The show's regular host Cat Deeley was joined by Andi Peters at the beginning of the week.

While her usual partner on the show, Ben Shephard, is off filming for a new reality game show, Cat has been helming This Morning with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary. But this time around, it's Andi's chance to take the reins.

The duo, however, received a mild rebuke from chef Phil Vickery during one of his culinary segments. Nearing the end of the programme, the in-house chef was explaining which dishes can be prepared and frozen ahead of Christmas Day.

As he discussed stuffing, stating: "I love sausage, meat and stuffing." Andi concurred, chiming in with: "I love stuffing! " Yet, Cat couldn't resist chuckling at their comments, giving them a naughtier twist than meant.

Her laughter soon spread to the camera crew, leaving Andi to realise the double entendre, reports the Mirror.

Phil seemed less than amused as he questioned: "Why do I bother? Why do I bother? It's such childish humour." Andi quickly tried to clear his name, insisting he was innocent. A sheepish Cat admitted: "I was!"

In another part of the cooking demonstration, Phil offered a tip that Cat openly challenged. He declared: "Golden rule on Christmas Day, do not have a drink until the turkey is on the table. Trust me, it will go wrong".

While Cat retorted: "Boring, boring! Make a list Phil and just tick it off." Phil may have been in high spirits jesting about festive preparations, but Andi also found himself at the centre of some good-natured ribbing during the show.

Jeff Brazier couldn't resist teasing him in the episode's early moments. Typically, the face of ITV's global prize giveaways, Andi has remained studio-bound this week, co-hosting This Morning with Cat.

With Andi otherwise engaged, Jeff Brazier has been the one whisked off to Austria. As they switched to Jeff's live feed, Andi introduced: "If you're dreaming of a white Christmas, Jeff Brazier has gone in search of some snow. Jeff, good morning! It looks glorious where you are!"

Jeff responded with a jovial quip: "Morning Cat and Andi. Andi don't worry, I'll do the cold ones!" Laughter quickly ensued among the hosts as Cat praised: "That was brilliant!"

Audience reactions to Andi and Cat pairing up on This Morning were mixeda sentiment captured by viewers on social media. One viewer expressed: "Andi is a bit over the top for a gloomy Monday morning.

Another added their critique: "This Andi Peter and Cat Deeley partnership looks like a recipe for disaster, I don't think Cat fancies Andi Peter's as a co-presenter. Andi Peters and Rochelle is the best partnership on this morning."

However, some fans expressed enjoyment at the pairing of Andi and Cat, with one viewer noting: "Their energy is better matched." Another chimed in, saying: "No, I am not new, but I actually like Andi Peters."

This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am.
