Lorraine: Tulisa's friend talks about singer's health and surgery
Tulisa Contostavlos' pal has come out swinging against trolls after the star was bombarded with harsh critiques over her appearance during her stint on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
The former N-Dubz sensation, now 36, faced a storm of cruel comments and concern from viewers caught off guard by her changed face. Having kept out of the spotlight in recent years, Tulisa's transformation left some fans in shock.
However, a friend of Tulisa spoke out in her defence, revealing the singer's health struggles on ITV's Lorraine this Wednesday.
Chat show queen Lorraine Kelly remarked, "Now look, we were talking about getting semi-permanent make-up to look like yourself. A lot of people have been really nasty about Tulisa and saying, 'Oh, what has she done to her face and oh, she's had all this work done' when actually there is a reason, isn't there? There's a reason for that."
Michelle responded, "She's been suffering a lot with her face. She also had cysts, and she's recently had them out. So she had an operation where they had to go in and take cysts out. She's had a really terrible time," reports the Mirror.
Then Lorraine commented, "Bell's palsy is a really scary thing. It's like your face can almost drop!" to which Michelle concurred.
Her companion further stated, "It did. Like her whole face on one side was droopy."
Lorraine sympathised with Tulisa, acknowledging the necessity of corrective work for medical reasons. She proceeded to ask Michelle her thoughts on the online commentary regarding the singer's appearance.
Michelle responded emphatically: "I'd say be nice. Keep your mouths shut!"

Prior to her foray into the jungle last week, Tulisa shared her experience with Bell's Palsy while featuring on Olivia Attwood's So Wrong It's Right podcast. She divulged: "When I was about 24, I had my first Bell's Palsy attack."
She recounted the ordeal, mentioning: "So I sat at home, and I had a massive burst of inflammation, and it went down, but my whole face dropped eye, everything. I couldn't move it; my face remained like that for seven months; I didn't go out; I just hid in the house."
Bell's Palsy is characterized by a sudden weakness or paralysis affecting one side of the face temporarily. Its symptoms can manifest as a facial droop which may include a sagging eyelid or downward pull at the mouth's corner.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV1.
