Emmerdale: Frank Clayton lies about why he’s missing work
Emmerdale's entrepreneur Caleb Miligan (played by William Ash) has been relentlessly striving to establish his new depot business, all the while swindling Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) out of his fortune. However, loyal viewers of the ITV soap believe they've identified a significant hint that disaster is imminent.
On Wednesday's visit to the village (November 13), Caleb was gearing up to unveil his new business venture, with Jai eager to reap some benefits after investing his entire savings.
However, with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) filing for divorce amidst the business's establishment, Jai chose to conceal his true financial status from his wife at Caleb's behest - resulting in the funds being stashed away in a 'hidden account'.
Jai has finally come to the realisation that his new business endeavour isn't as it appears, having not been allocated any office space at the new depot while Caleb luxuriates at his own spacious desk.
When Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) approached Jai for a new position at the depot and he refused, Caleb was more than willing to hire her, reports Leeds Live.
Yet, Emmerdale enthusiasts were quick to recall the last time Jai and Kerry collaborated in a warehouse it resulted in Frank Clayton's (Michael Praed) death.
In 2019, a catastrophic fire engulfed the sweet factory and following a dispute with Jai, Frank found himself trapped in an explosion that took his life.
The Emmerdale plot thickened when Kerry and her on-screen daughter Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) inadvertently sparked the devastating fire.
As Jai and Kerry reunited in Caleb's warehouse on Wednesday, tensions mounted prompting fans to speculate about an upcoming cataclysm.
One avid viewer speculated: "That's Kerry in the firing line when the depot no doubly blows up. #Emmerdale."
Another reminded: "Kerry, last time you worked in a warehouse with Jai FRANK DIED!!! Remember?!!#Emmerdale."
A third fan pointed out previous plotlines: "Ah yes, Kerry worked for Jai which ended up with her and Amy burning down the factory and killing Frank, but everyone seems to have forgotten that #Emmerdale."
One observer suggested history is repeating itself: "They are deffo recreating the factory they never should have burnt it down."
While another concurred with: "Yessss! I thought it was just me thinking this. When Kerry walked in today I had instant flashbacks to the chocolates factory years ago (RIP Frank) #Emmerdale."
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm.
