The Repair Shop: Narrator Bill Paterson appears on show
Fans of BBC's hit show The Repair Shop were left rather taken aback during the latest episode as an unlikely star appeared on the show.
On Wednesday night's edition of the show, the usual experts returned to the barn to help restore damaged family heirlooms and give them a new lease of life. But before the experts welcomed guests into the repair shop, fans saw narrator Bill Paterson appear on their screens.
Actor Bill, has been voicing the famous series since it first started in 2017. But viewers were stunned to see the man behind the calming voice on their TV sets.
Heading over to X, fans shared their thoughts. One viewer said: "Wow, that's REALLY strange seeing the voice of #therepairshop on screen."

Another also shared their surprise while adding their suggestion on what the BBC could do to improve the show. They wrote: "The BBC having to cobble together old footage to fill the gap left by episodes removed it seems. I kinda wish they did it like they did with the 'Fixing Britain' spinoff during the pandemic, but I'm guessing they had to think fast. Seeing Bill on screen a surprise."
A third also shared: "Voice of #therepairshop also played Bruno’s dad in the 90s film of The Witches, if you’ve seen that."
Voiceover Bill has an amazing catalogue under his belt for previous shows and movies that he's appeared in. As well as The Repair Show, he has been in the series Fleabag, Miss Potter and the film version of Dad's Army.

Elsewhere on the programme which was a collection of the show's best bits, guest Minty Barlow appeared in the barn with a miniature replica house.
The house was once part of a model village tourist attraction in her home town of Cleethorpes. Her parents, who have since passed away, saved it when the attraction closed down in the 1970s and relocated it to their garden.
There Minty's parents created a magical world of fantasy and fairies for her and her brother. Young Minty was captivated by the fairy house and would love her daughter to see it in its original condition.
Ceramics expert Kirsten Ramsay and woodwork expert Will Kirk were on hand to restore the item which left Minty in tears when she saw the final results.
Viewers were loving the scenes too, with one heading over to X to write: "Always love watching #TheRepairShop - heartwarming stories - loved the fairy house in tonight’s episode."
The Repair Shop airs Wednesdays at 8pm on BBC One.
