Emmerdale fans are predicting a shocking serial killer plot twist, and it doesn't bode well for Aaron Dingle.
The iconic Dales has been home to numerous psychopaths with murderous tendencies over the years.
From 2014 to 2018, Lachlan (Tom Atkinson) sent shockwaves through the village with a killing spree that included his own family members. A few years ago, Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) wreaked havoc, becoming one of the soap's most infamous serial killers.
The malevolent nurse claimed five lives during her time in the renowned village. However, viewers now believe they've identified the next villager set to snap and become the soap's latest serial killer - and it's an unexpected choice.
Fans have taken to the internet to voice their suspicions about newcomer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). John, who was introduced earlier this year as the alleged long-lost son of Jack Sugden (Clive Hornby), quickly made his mark on the village residents.
He has since settled into the Dales, kindling a romance with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and getting acquainted with his estranged family.
Nonetheless, viewers can't shake their fears and suspicions that John is concealing something sinister, leading them to speculate that he could be about to embark on a murder spree, reports Leeds Live.
Over on a buzzing Reddit thread, speculation was rife about the identity of the village's potential new menace with one user pondering: "Village's next serial killer?"

This theory quickly gained traction, as multiple followers chimed in, with one fan claiming: "John really seems like the only likely choice at the moment, we know very little about him. He is emotionally closed off, we don't even know for certain that John is his name for that matter, much less what he is doing in the village."
Another commenter added their voice to the suspenseful guessing game by remarking: "Either John maybe? (Don't think he will be a storyline one more like Carl where he kills one or two but not in the storyline sense)."
And yet another agreed, sketching doubt around John's character: "I agree, I still think he's hiding something."
