Netflix is welcoming back Lindsay Lohan for a second festive holiday movie following her role in Falling for Christmas back in 2022.
The Hollywood star will join Broadway legend Kristin Chenoweth and Pretty Little Liars actor Ian Harding in Netflix’s brand-new film, Our Little Secret.
The feel-good flick will also see Lohan reunite with her Mean Girls co-star Tim Meadows, who plays Principal Duvall in the 2004 teen comedy film.
He also returned for the 2024 movie musical adaptation, which featured a cameo from Lohan, who played the iconic Cady Heron in the original.
Our Little Secret will be Lohan’s third Netflix project overall, as she also previously appeared in The Irish Wish earlier this year.
The actress, who is well-known for appearing in several ’90s and early 2000s movies, including Freaky Friday and The Parent Trap, has also landed executive producer credits for all three titles.
The synopsis reads: “Two resentful exes (Lohan and Harding) are forced to spend Christmas under the same roof after discovering that their current partners are siblings.”
In the new trailer, we see how things only become more complicated for Lohan’s character when she “butts heads with her boyfriend’s mother”, played by Chenoweth.
Other cast members include Jon Rudnitsky, Henry Czerny, Judy Reyes, Chris Parnell, Dan Bucatinsky and Katie Baker.
Our Little Secret was written by Hailey DeDominicis and directed by Stephen Herek of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure fame.
Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum about the new Christmas flick, Lohan said: “The movie is about a girl who’s dating someone, and she goes to meet his family for the holidays.
“Then she bumps into her ex, who is dating her boyfriend’s sister. And all kinds of stuff breaks loose.”
Expressing joy for the festive season, she went on to add: “It’s so beautiful to be able to do films that are associated with holidays because it’s family time.
“When you can make a movie that families can remember and come together to see, it makes it all the more special.”
Lohan also described how she will be able to show off some new skills in the role, revealing: “ “I think the biggest difference with Avery is that, in this, I did have to do some comedic scenes — I haven’t had to go as deep into that before.”
Out Little Secret will premiere on November 27, exclusively on Netflix.
