Strictly's Sam Quek can't stand up due to 'short' dress
Strictly Come Dancing star Sam Quek narrowly avoided a wardrobe malfunction on It Takes Two after confessing her dress was a bit too short.
Sitting alongside dance partner Nikita Kuzmin on the sofa, Sam wore a light pink sequined off-the-shoulder dress, which she kept adjusting as she chatted to host Janette Manrara.
Sam admitted: "I'd get up and give you a hug, but this dress is very tight and short."
However, Janette disagreed, saying: "No, no, but it is a beautiful dress for your birthday show."
Sam replied: "It is a tad short. Isn't it a bit much for 6.45pm?" Janette brushed off her concerns, saying the show loves "the sparkle" before turning her attention to Nikita, who had a fake tan mishap, reports the Mirror.
Janette teased Nikita about his tan, saying: "We also love a good tan. Nikita, which clearly, you seem to love coming on the show right after you've got [one]."
Nikita laughed, explaining: "This year, especially, when I'm tanning or talking or singing, I don't get it right."
Sam joked that Nikita looked like "he had a filter on" before Janette moved on to discuss this week's Strictly. When asked about overcoming her fear of letting "sexy Sam out," Sam revealed Nikita gave her a pep talk, and they created an alter ego for her.
She said: "Just to embrace the curves and touch your body, I just don't touch my body."
When asked how he supports Sam in venturing beyond her comfort zone during their dance training, Nikita divulged, "I think we just talk.
"Both of us were quite straightforward with our attitude and how we trust each other. So I'm just able to talk to Sam the way I would talk to a friend."
Nikita explained their communication approach: "Just listen, 'this is the way it is,' and she tells me, 'Okay, this is the way I feel,' and we just communicate."
Their frank relationship prompted laughter from Sam as she remarked: "We are straight," and continued: "We don't waste time because, again, we trust each other completely, and we have a good laugh."
Sam expressed her confidence in Nikita's guidance, saying: "I feel full confidence from Nikita when he's advising me on how to be because I trust him."
Nikita and Sam will perform the Quick Step to Natasha Bedingfield's hit Unwritten on Saturday night.
Strictly It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
