The world remains in shock following the tragic death of One Direction star Liam Payne, who fell from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
Payne, 31, rose to international fame as part of the five-piece boyband One Direction, which was formed on The X Factor in 2010. The band, which also included Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, quickly became one of the biggest pop groups globally.
Their meteoric rise led to several concert films and documentaries, including One Direction: The Only Way Is Up in 2012, the feature-length One Direction: This Is Us in 2013, and concert film One Direction: Where We Are.
Before his untimely death, Payne's last Instagram post was a tribute to documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, who passed away from cancer aged 53 in May this year.
The post featured a photo of the One Direction members with Spurlock, captioned: "Rest in peace Morgan Spurlock it was a pleasure working with you."

Spurlock and Payne's connection comes from their work together on the One Direction documentary This Is Us. Directed by Spurlock, This Is Us followed the band on their 2012 to 2013 world tour, featuring live concert footage as well as backstage moments and interviews from behind-the-scenes with a hefty run time of nearly two hours.
The Oscar-nominated documentary maker is perhaps most recognisable for his 2004 film Super Size Me. In the film, he exclusively ate from McDonald's for 30 days, documenting the impact on his health and leading to the fast-food chain discontinuing its Super Size option, reports the Mirror.
In 2019, he launched a follow-up to Super Size Me, dubbed Super Size Me 2: Holy Chicken, where he ventured into running his own fast food joint.
Beyond his collaboration with One Direction, Spurlock has also crafted films on the US war in Afghanistan, named Where in the World is Osama bin Laden. He tackled consumer marketing in The Greatest Movie Ever Sold and delved into subjects like gambling and elderly care in the CNN series Morgan Spurlock's Inside Man.
