Freddie Flintoff speaks after Top Gear crash
Freddie Flintoff has secured a new role as the host of the revived darts game show Bullseye.
The late Jim Bowen hosted the original show in the 80s and 90s for 15 years before his exit in 1995. Now, cricket legend Freddie is set to step into the late comedian's shoes for a one-off Christmas special.
It's yet to be seen if the special will lead to a regular series after it airs on ITV later this year.
The 45-year-old enthusiastically announced to The Sun: “I love the darts and Bullseye was one of my favourite shows as a kid.
“I can't quite believe I'll get to host this Christmas special,” Freddie added before echoing one of the former host's famous catchphrases: "You can't beat a bit of Bully!"
This will be Freddie's first TV commission since his recent documentary Field of Dreams following his terrifying crash.
The cricket star and television presenter narrowly escaped death during a horrific accident in December 2022 while filming for Top Gear at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey.
He sustained severe injuries when the Morgan Super 3 trike he was driving, along with a film crew member, flipped over and crashed into the track.
He suffered broken ribs and facial injuries, leading to him being airlifted to hospital.

Since the accident, he has kept a low profile but made a return to television in August for his Field of Dreams on Tour.
In this show, he coached an unlikely cricket team from Preston on a tour of India and during a heartfelt segment, Freddie candidly opened up about the severity of his injuries.
He shared: “Week and a half after my accident. Genuinely should not be here after what happened. This is going to be a long road back and I have only just started and I am struggling already. I need help.
“I really am not the best at asking for it. I need to stop crying every two minutes. I am looking forward to seeing the lads and being around them, I really am. This India trip is going to be for me as much as them now. I really want to go,” Freddie added.
