This Morning was dealt a huge blow after losing a National Television Award for Best Daytime.

This evening, TV stars gathered at London’s O2 as Joel Dommett once again returned to host the annual event.

With fans remaining hopeful for their favourite shows, the night came to a devastating end for This Morning.

The ITV programme, fronted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, lost out to Bradley Walsh’s beloved competition series The Chase.

This loss marks a second in a row for the show, after BBC’s The Repair Shop took home the trophy in 2023.

It put a shocking end to This Morning’s 13-year streak, following Phillip Schofield’s scandalous departure from screens.

The former presenter left the show in May last year after controversy over his relationship with a colleague.

Phillip resigned from all of his ITV roles after admitting to an affair with the younger male colleague.

Holly Willoughby’s exit followed shortly after and this has seemingly affected the show’s reputation among fans, as the award is voted for by the public.

The rest of the nominees included Deal or No Deal, Loose Women and The Repair Shop.

As the Big Brother presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best announced Bradley as the winner, he was overcome with emotion and disbelief as he held his head in his hands.

Taking to the stage to accept his award, Bradley shared his gratitude to viewers and everyone working on the show with: “Thank you so much to everyone on the team."

He also celebrated the milestone and hoped for "another 15 years of The Chase."
