NTAs: This Morning welcomed by Joel Dommett

Joel Dommett was centre stage once again as he presented this year’s National Television Awards.

As the best of the best in the TV industry gathered together for the glamorous event, the room was full of hopeful celebs all hoping to win the award they’d been nominated for.

However, it seemed as though ITV viewers had one major complaint minutes after the show kicked off. Taking to Twitter, people wasted no time in commenting on the opening number as Joel burst into a song.

One person said: "Most painful intro in some time! #NTAs." Another commented: "That was horrendoues Joel."

"The singing intro thing only really works when it’s someone that can actually sing," commented someone else. "What the actual f**k is this?" asked one viewer. With someone else adding: "Oh how corny."

Joel's musical number featured many of the celebrities and their shows up for a nomination, including Davina McCall, Bradley Walsh and Ant and Dec.

During one point, Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke joined Joel on stage as they performed a little jazz number together.

However, it seemed as though the ITV host couldn't help but have a jab at himself whilst singing. He said: "So much talent to celebrated, me? I've not been nominated!"

After his whirlwind performance, it was time to find out who had won for Factual Entertainment. Despite some impressive nominations, including Clarkson's Farm and Yorkshire Vet, it was Stacey Solomon's Sort Your Life Out who won.

She was clearly shocked with the win as she embraced her eldest son next to her. Once she was on stage, the TV presenter confessed she was practising her losing face, not expecting to win.

During her speech, she thanked the families who opened up their homes and hearts to her for the show as she collected the prize.

Throughout the annual event, viewers will also see celebrities take home awards for winning in categories such Drama Performance, Serial Drama, Reality Competition and Comedy.

The National Television Awards is available to watch on ITVX.
