GMB: Carol Vorderman shares her political opinions
ITV star Carol Vorderman was heard saying that her latest quest in politics is to “close the disconnect”. The 63-year-old appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday where she scrutinized the Labour Party but was suddenly cut off and unable to finish her sentence by hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls.
The Countdown star initially discussed her brand-new book Now What, which goes on sale later this week - as she continues to “Fix Broken Britain.” She went on a huge rant about how the Labour Party was not helping people and was left “shocked” by their latest moves.
Carol was heard saying: “I am quite shocked actually that a Labour Government has suggested this, and I think it could be their poll tax statement very early on. So part of why I am writing the book is about tax reform. I give evidence it is very readable.”
She continued to say that it is her “take on the manifesto” and then shared a whopping statement. Carol said: “Private equity managers in the tax year 2020/2021. Round about then. One tax year they earned, I say lightly £2.7 billion. Do you know how many people earned £2.7 billion?
“Do you want to know? 255 of them. So they were earning over £10 million on average each. But they don’t pay 45% tax like somebody earning over £100,000. They don’t pay that as they have a special arrangement made. They pay HMRC 28% tax.”
Discussing the former Chancellor, Ed Balls said: "You weren't very impressed by us having Kwasi Kwarteng on Good Morning Britain."
Carol replied: "No... When I switched on and saw Kwasi Kwarteng.. Old Etonian.. He crashed the economy along with his mate Liz Truss.. I just thought, good grief." She continued that her mission is to “close the disconnect in some way.”
Susanna, 53, appeared fed up and cut Carol off mid-rant. She said: “We need to close the disconnect between out programme and Lorraine.”

As the popular morning chat show drew to a close fans noticed the abrupt change. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, users penned their thoughts.
One user said: "Balls & Reid blatantly cutting off @carolvorders as soon as she mentions Kwartang (who crashed the economy with Truss) having a regular cosy spot on the panel! Producers are not having it! Well done Carol."
Another added: "Good they cut off carol v ha ha." A third person chimed in and shared: “Good they cut Carol off just move onto the next show she is deluded !!."
“Off you pop,” added a fourth person. Meanwhile, another user took a scathing swipe at the presenter: “I am so disappointed in you. You have thrown your weight behind Labour without fully understanding their vision for the UK. My 81 year old father will spend his winters wondering if he can afford to turn the heating on? You need a rethink on who you're supporting.”
This came after she was blasted online earlier this week where fans said they were “let down” by her actions. Pensioners felt that she urged them to vote for Labour during the elections for the party only for it to scrap the Winter Fuel Allowance.
Labour has taken a huge hit with its initial popularity with the early announcement by Chancellor Rachel Reeves this has caused a major backlash against the party now being aimed Carol.
