Outlander season 7 part 2 trailer on STARZ

Outlander star Sam Heughan has demonstrated his accent skills in a hilarious recent interview with Caitriona Balfe.

The Jamie and Claire Fraser stars have sat down to put their history knowledge to the test ahead of the hit Starz drama returning for the second half of season seven.

In the new clip posted on Instagram, Sam asked: “What treaty ended the Revolutionary War?”

Hoping her co-star had brushed up on his history, Caitriona replied: “I’ll let you take this one.”

As the American Revolution has played a key role in the setting of Outlander’s thrilling seventh season, Sam had no trouble recalling the historical trivia.

However, he left fans in hysterics as he couldn’t help putting on a French accent to deliver the answer.

“Tis, er, simple,” he replied with a shrug. “It was, er… Paris? Non? Mais non?”

“That’s right,” Caitriona confirmed, sounding somewhat surprised. “That’s why they gave them the Statue of Liberty.”

Caitriona also tried on a French accent while naming the iconic landmark, adding, “égalité, fraternité!”

“It’s very small, isn’t it, the Statue of Liberty?” Sam then pondered. “Like, if you see it in real life.”

“Not really…” his co-star replied, confused. “There’s a really small one in Paris.”

To which Sam quipped: “No, I think it was the gift shop I went to. They had lots of little small ones.”

Outlander fans were tickled pink by the co-stars’ latest funny exchange and took to the comments to show their appreciation for their accent skills.

“I love listening to Sam and Cait speak French,” one viewer replied, adding love heart emojis.

“And just like that Sam & Cait are from France!!!” another said.

One fan with French credentials commented: “Very good accent (and it’s a French girl who says it!) I could listen to them talking in French for hours.”

And a fourth said: “The French accent killed me, but it’s really good btw, love them so much.”

The Frasers’ adventures on-screen promise to be a little more serious when Claire, Jamie and Young Ian (played by John Bell) return to Scotland at the start of the second half of season seven.

Outlander season 7, part 2 premieres Sunday, November 22 on Starz.
