GMB: Alex Beresford celebrates 20 years at ITV with throwback clips
Good Morning Britain's Alex Beresford has confessed to feeling "absolute dread" after a "stomach-churning" encounter at work. The ITV weather presenter, 43, came into contact with a zombie knife for the first time as part of his ongoing campaign to raise awareness about knife crime.
Alex met with stabbing survivor Faron Alex Paul, also known as Faz, who has initiated an impressive scheme to remove knives from the streets of south London.
Sharing the experience with his followers, Alex posted a photo on X, formerly Twitter, showing him holding the knife alongside Faz and a film crew.
He disclosed that Faz has removed thousands of knives from the streets, undoubtedly saving countless lives through his efforts.
Alongside the photo, he wrote: "This was a stomach-churning moment. The first time I've come face to face with a zombie knife in real life and I was filled with absolute dread and horror holding it."

He added: "This was just one of a huge collection that also included ninja swords, yet to be banned. This person gladly handed them over, but there will be some who will hold onto them or even sell them straight into the hands of those at risk of taking a life or losing their own life."
In a heartfelt tribute, Alex praised Faz's anti-violence efforts and remarked: "Thank you for letting me come along #fazamnesty, who has taken thousands of knives off the streets and in turn undoubtedly saving so many lives with his work.
"It's the people like Faz working to remove the fear in our communities that makes someone think a knife is a solution to a problem," reports the Mirror.
He further commented on the need for more action despite new laws: "The Government's recent legislation to ban zombie knives is a step but there is so much left to be done."
Reflecting on a very personal connection to the issue, Alex previously hosted an ITV programme exploring the UK's knife crime after the tragic loss of his cousin Nathaniel Armstrong to a stabbing in London in 2019.
On that painful occasion, Alex commemorated him with moving words: "Nathaniel was a bright young man with his whole life ahead of him and this tragedy is yet one more example of a needless life lost to knife crime."
