Sherwood: Steffi is brought home by social worker

Sherwood viewers took umbrage with a plot point in episode four which viewers deemed unrealistic. The BBC One drama set in Nottingham saw a social worker leave a vulnerable adult in a dodgy situation.
Stephie (played by Bethany Asher) has Down Syndrome but social worker Sandy Waters (Aisling Loftus) brought her home to the care of her criminal cousins.
Outraged viewers took to X to point out how incredulous the scene was as Sandy even announced where she lived while the dubious inhabitants of the property mocked her. @Andi000211 fumed: "No way, would social services leave her with that lot.#Sherwood."
@guitartrace commented: "I don’t know what research was carried out but there’s no way on earth social services would leave that kid in that house with those degenerates #Sherwood."
@amz07 wrote: "Nah not having that, she may be over 18 but she’s evidently very vulnerable and easily taken advantage of, get her into her own supported accommodation away from these thugs #Sherwood."

@PippyG82 also found it unbelievable opining: "#Sherwood has been amazing thus far - but there is no way Social Services would leave Stephie in that situation, with strange men in her home!"

@signoramac included crying emojis in their post as they chimed in: "Social workers telling a bunch of criminals she lives a few streets away and leaves a vulnerable adult in their care #Sherwood."
Sensing tension in the household as they walked through the door Sandy asked Stephie if she was sure about staying there and told her they could leave if she wished.
However, Stephie assured her that it was fine telling her "it's okay".

This led Sandy to reveal her details. "You've got my mobile number in your phone, and you know that I just live a few roads away, don't you?" she said.

Stephie isn't as vulnerable as some people seem to think though as last week she confessed to her brother Ryan Bottomley (Oliver Huntingdon) that she had murdered Kyre Branson (Conor Deane).

It was at his insistence that she ended up back in the family home.

He told Sandy and Ian St Clair (David Morrisey) he wanted her to move back there.

He insisted as her next of kin, he wanted a say in what happened to his sister, which ultimately led to her current living arrangements.

Sherwood is on BBC One on Monday nights at 9pm.
