The Chase is set for a major revamp as it celebrates its 15th anniversary with a fresh episode next week, featuring a unique twist that's sure to excite fans.

In an unprecedented move, the beloved quiz show will introduce four contestants who share names with the chasers, and they'll face not just one, but two trivia titans in a dramatic format change.

A teaser for Monday's (September 2) episode shows host Bradley Walsh exclaiming: "These four people have never met before but by working together as a team they have the chance to win thousands of pounds! Today, two things are standing in their way. Two Chasers. The Chase double trouble is on."

Eagerly anticipating the challenge are contestants Darragh, Jenny, Anne, and Paul, who look on to discover which quiz legends they'll be battling. The promotional clip, shared on The Chase's official Instagram page last Friday (August 30), has sent the show's followers into a frenzy, prompting a flurry of excited comments.

One viewer wrote: "Love how the contestants names are Chaser names...well played everyone.", reports the Mirror.

Mark and Shaun have been on the prowl since the very first series, with Anne joining in the second, Paul in the fourth, Jenny in the ninth, and Darragh making his debut in the thirteenth.

Typically, only a single chaser is featured per episode, barring special occasions. However, to mark the 15th anniversary of the show, producers have decided to shake things up by introducing two chasers in a single episode, a move sure to thrill fans.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX at 5pm
