Official Trailer for KAOS starring Jeff Goldblum as Zeus

Netflix's latest offering, KAOS, featuring Jeff Goldblum as the almighty Zeus and Janet McTeer as Hera, has critics raving with its positive reception.

Dubbed as a blend of 'HBO's Succession and ancient Greek mythology', the dark comedy dropped today to a chorus of acclaim.

KAOS spins the tale of an omnipotent yet insecure Zeus, who begins to suspect his time at the top might be dwindling.

As paranoia and retribution consume Zeus, three mortals stumble upon a web of grand schemes tied to the pantheon of Greek deities.

The ensemble also includes Killian Scott as Orpheus, Aurora Perrineau as Eurydice, and Billie Piper taking on the role of Cassandra, reports the Mirror.

The mind behind the series is Charlie Covell, celebrated for bringing The End of the F***ing World from graphic comic to Channel 4 screen success.

Critics have spoken, and the buzz suggests that KAOS could well be on its way to securing a second season.

One of the most glowing endorsements came from the Guardian, which bestowed five stars and hailed the show as "a masterpiece".

Lucy Mangan penned: "Hilarious, profound and moving: this fantasy series is an utter triumph. Its tale of Zeus and co-living in the modern day is intelligent, twisty and action-packed."

TIME Magazine lauded the series as a "clever eat-the-rich thriller" and praised it as "a thoroughly enjoyable escape".

The Standard highlighted Goldblum's portrayal, remarking that he is "on top form in this bonkers mythical reimagining".

Vicky Jessop, in her four-star review, praised Netflix's Kaos, stating: "Hats off to whoever greenlit Kaos on the Netflix team this is surely the most bonkers show it's put out in a long time."

She also described the show as an "end result is a glorious burst of firecracker energy" and a perfect antidote for "just the thing to stave off those autumn blues".

iNews echoed Jessop's sentiments, also awarding KAOS four stars and labelling it as "a big-budget, no-idea-too-wild romp".

The Financial Times was slightly less enthusiastic, giving the show three stars. They commended Goldblum for his "zany charisma", but suggested that the show is "unlikely to go down as one of the classics".

The Telegraph mirrored this rating, bestowing another three stars upon the "rambunctious reboot of the Greek myths".

The Independent also gave a three-star review, noting that while "parts of Kaos are compelling", the show occasionally "strains at points under the weight of its arch, high-concept premise".
