Sian Welby introduces her new baby live on air

This Morning viewers were delighted when presenter Sian Welby brought her first-born, Ruby, onto the ITV programme during the Bank Holiday broadcast. Ruby, the daughter Sian shares with Jake Beckett, was earlier introduced to the world on Instagram, with snaps of the tot in a personalised jumper.

In her home life glimpses, Sian posted heartfelt pictures cuddling Ruby alongside the words "Our little Ruby".

Kicking off the Monday edition of This Morning, Sian humorously remarked she'd be pushing the pram around the park rather than lounging in bed if not for hosting duties.

Co-host Craig Doyle was smitten as cameras showed Jake holding baby Ruby. Later, show guest Gyles Brandreth praised the presence of the infant, telling Sian she looked stunning.

Doyle had warmly invited Ruby on-air by stating: "You have brought along a very special guest. The newest, tiniest, cutest member of the This Morning family. The nation curls up with the cuteness."

Meanwhile, Sian commented: "Little Ruby, it's so sweet to have her with me today because I was quite nervous about leaving her."

Jake light-heartedly added: "She did a big poo before we left," prompting the host to react with an "Oh, great."

With good cheer, Craig said: "I'm not going to say what I was going to say. We are all nervous, you know."

Parenthood's ups and downs continue to feature prominently on Sian's Instagram updates to her followers.

Earlier in August, she graced her followers with a candid snapshot capturing her hectic morning routine, captioned: "The reality of my morning: I was so excited to be live on @capitalofficial breakfast at 8am to announce that I will be back on the show September 2nd, however to make that happen I had to start at 6am preparing for it! ".

With humour and relatability, she detailed her multi-tasking feats: "From rocking Ruby with my foot whilst I ate my cereal, to sterilising bottles in the microwave whilst I dashed for a wee, it was a mission! ".

She amusingly recounted the balancing act of motherhood and work commitments: "At one point I was doing my mascara with one hand, whilst holding a bottle in another - feeding Ruby moments before going live so she wouldn't cry while I was on air! ".

Bringing levity to the chaos of the morning, she added: "Long story short, in the rush of finding a clean top to wear and changing another wet nappy I didn't have time to put any trousers on and so this is me, live on FaceTime, to the nation...in my pants."

Previously in February, Sian delighted fans with her pregnancy announcement: "Being serious guys, I've got a bit of an announcement for you... I'm pregnant."

The broadcaster told Roman Kemp, who left Capital Breakfast earlier this year she did not how she "managed to keep it from you for so long".

She also light-heartedly discussed the pretense of drinking: "The stress I've gone through trying to pretend... to be drinking."

ITV joined the chorus of well-wishers with a heartfelt statement: "huge congratulations on the birth of their baby girl", offering affectionate sentiments: "Sending all of our love from everyone here at This Morning, and we can't wait to meet her! ".
