Sherwood returns in season two trailer for BBC series

Sherwood season two is on its way but how many episodes will this next outing consist of?
It’s been more than two years since the explosive events of Sherwood season one which was filled with family feuds, political turmoil and murder.
Fast-forward to 2024 and the community will suffer again with a family living in fear after a deadly attack makes them targets.
How many episodes are in Sherwood season 2?
Sherwood season two is going to premiere this Bank Holiday Weekend on Sunday, August 25, at 9pm on BBC One.
This second series is going to consist of six episodes in total with the first airing on August 25 and the second the following night on Monday, August 26, in the same time slot.
After the second episode, the remaining four instalments are going to be aired on Sunday and Monday nights over the next couple of weeks.
So the grand finale of Sherwood season two will be out on Monday, September 9.
Episodes are also going to be available to watch on BBC iPlayer if you’re unable to watch live on BBC One.
And going by the drama’s synopsis, this new series will certainly be worth the two-year wait.
The description reads: “The second series of Sherwood further explores the powerful themes that made the first so resonant to audiences across the UK.
“Set in the present day it introduces two new families that find themselves entangled with the Sparrows, entering a complex web of local gangs, old rivalries, revenge, and betrayal.
“Meanwhile, a newly appointed Sheriff of Nottingham is passionately fighting against a proposed new coal mine for the area, which brings the promise of much needed jobs and prosperity but also unwelcome reminders of the legacy that has mired the community for so long.
Sherwood season two premieres on Sunday, August 25, at 9pm on BBC One.
