Jermaine Jenas has been sacked from The One Show and Match of the Day after claims of "inappropriate behaviour".

The BBC presenter has been removed from the two shows following an "immediate internal investigation" after concerns were raised about the former footballer.

It's been reported by The Sun that he was quietly removed from the BBC's official channels.

A source told the publication that it is a "nightmare" for the channel after a complaint was raised regarding his behaviour. The source added: "After some immediate routine enquiries the decision was taken to take him off air, and terminate his contract."

They added: "The feeling is he won't be back on the BBC."

A giant mural featuring the presenter has been removed from Manchester's Media City HQ, the publication added.

Jermaine is a regular face on BBC's platforms through both his work on MOTD and The One Show, last appearing on TV with Alex Jones on Wednesday, July 22.

His last appearance on MOTD took place on May 4.

It's reported that the household name is "not happy" with the BBC's decision to pull him from air.

Jermaine's huge telly gig saw him pull in a whopping sum per year, with latest figures stating he would take home between £190,000 and £194,999.

The complaint submitted against Jermaine is yet another blow to the BBC who have been hit with backlash following scandals around both Huw Edwards and Strictly Come Dancing professionals Graziano Di Prima and Giovanni Pernice.

Investigations are currently underway with the Strictly professionals, while content relating to Huw Edwards has been removed from BBC iPlayer.
