Jeff Brazier speaks about doing TV show with Freddie

On the latest episode of This Morning, presenters Rochelle Humes and Joel Dommett had a heartfelt chat with Jeff Brazier about his participation in Celebrity Race Across The World.

Rochelle expressed how touching it was to see the father-son relationship unfold on screen, to which Jeff responded by reflecting on the personal growth that comes from the show, not just the exotic destinations.

He remarked: "He's 19, I feel like he's going to move out soon as well as his brother (Bobby). I'm not pushing them out by any stretch of the imagination.

"I just know that my time to really get the most of both of them is coming to an end. Bob's had some incredible life experiences in his young years and I felt it was Freddie's turn really for him to do something incredible."

Jeff conveyed to the hosts that embarking on this adventure with his youngest son was an invaluable chance to bond.

Joel admitted being impressed by how well 19 year old Freddie is portrayed on the series, saying: "You must be so proud as a father to connect with him on that level."

Jeff appreciated the praise but acknowledged that the journey wasn't without its challenges, reports the Mirror. He shared that while they usually resolve issues quickly at home, the pressures of the competition made it tougher to deal with conflicts.

Jeff gushed: "The truth is, Freddie is the best person that I know, let alone the best person in the family that I could've taken to race so I'm really glad that people get the opportunity to see the other child of mine!

"But, most importantly Fred gets a chance to see himself and he's the first to impress us but he's actually the last to realise why he's special. I think that's why it's beautiful for him to of been on there."

Celebrity Race Across The World returned with a bang last week as BBC audiences witnessed four celebrity teams embark on an extraordinary adventure.

Armed with a tight budget, they are challenged to cover thousands of miles to reach the ultimate destination.

The journey begins in the northern reaches of Brazil, with competitors required to navigate through five checkpoints en route to their final stop in Southern Chile.

Amongst those vying for victory are actor Kola Bokinni with his cousin Mary Ellen, TV star Kelly Brook alongside her partner Jeremy, and Radio 2's Scott Mills joined by his husband (previously fiance), Sam.

Celebrity Race Across the World continues Wednesdays on BBC One from 9pm and This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am.
