Talk TV star goes missing mid-show as co-star issues apology as she steps in

TalkTV star Alex Phillips issued a heartfelt apology on social media after she was forced to step away from the live broadcast due to ill health.

The presenter was hosting her usual weekday show and had just finished interviewing former MET Detective Peter Bleksley when she disappeared mid-show.

After they discussed prisoners being recalled for committing crimes after being released early, Alex told viewers: “We're going to take another short break but don’t go anywhere.

“There is so much more common sense to come,” however, the commercial break lasted longer than expected and the show returned with presenter Petrie Hosken instead.

She stated: “Hello there, do not adjust your set, it's nothing weird, you haven't gone through the time and space continuum.

“Poor Alex wasn't feeling very well, in fact, she was very close to throwing up.

Petrie continued: “I was sat outside and fiddling with my notes, so what we're going to do until 10 pm is pick up where Alex left off and I'll be taking your calls.”

She added: “So sorry about that, poor Alex she’s feeling really, really rough,” before informing viewers about the upcoming topics.

After leaving the show, the 40-year-old offered more insight into her disappearance as she took to X, with an apology.

She penned: “Sorry folks. Had to skedaddle early. Suddenly felt pretty poorly and it's blimmin hard to present when you feel unwell.

“Thankfully the amazing Petrie was able to save the day and I'm now off home to recover and hopefully spring back tomorrow!”

Alex was inundated with well wishes from viewers including @DavidCrabbUK who wrote: “Get well soon, Alex. Take care.”

As @kathiekeane echoed: “Feel better Alex…I just love your energy on the radio you are a breath of sunshine!”
