Emmerdale star addresses return of serial killer after bombshell revelation

Emmerdale newcomer Paula Lane has addressed the potential return of serial killer nurse Meena Jutla in a huge twist.

The actress joined the soap earlier this year as Ella Forster and it was quickly revealed to viewers that she was hiding a dark secret from her new neighbours.

A strong theory started to develop that Ella was somehow linked to Meena (Paige Sandhu), who is currently behind bars following her role in the deaths of Leanna Cavanagh, Ben Tucker and Andrea Tate.

When Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) opened up about his daughter Leanna’s murder, his love interest Ella’s reaction left many fans suspicious.

In the meantime, it came to light that Ella had a friend who encouraged her to go into nursing, same career as Meena. However, it was revealed that Ella killed her best friend when she was a child.

Even though Ella doesn’t yet have any connection to Meena, actress Paula Lane isn’t ruling it out totally and shared how the pair could have crossed paths.

Paula told Metro: "I enjoyed reading them to begin with just because I found them quite funny. Because obviously, there’s absolutely zero connection unless she’s come across her in prison. So you never know, them crossing paths could be a theory."

Emmerdale spoilers have confirmed that Ella attacks Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) in upcoming scenes of the ITV soap after she gets pushed to breaking point as she faces a painful reminder of her dark past.

Ella wants a low-key day as her birthday is also the anniversary of the tragic day she killed her friend Joanne when they were both 11 years old. However, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) is determined that Ella should celebrate her milestone and offers her a full beauty treatment at the salon.

Mandy takes before and after pictures to showcase Ella's transformation, but she crosses the line when she posts them on the beauty salon's social media pages without permission. Ella loses it with Mandy, reminding her that she doesn't want to draw unnecessary attention to herself due to her criminal history. Later on, Joanne's cousin Gary arrives in the village to confront her over the past.

Gary fuels Ella's guilt by handing her a photo of Joanne. Ella is devastated and tries to rush off, but Gary follows in a tense pursuit. When Ella falls to the ground amid the chaos, Wendy ushers her away from Gary and off to the GP surgery to be checked over.

In the waiting room, Ella's traumatic day takes its toll as she loses control and attacks Wendy. Will this spark fears that Ella's not changed?
