Homes Under the Hammer: Martel Maxwell wades through 'jungle'
Martel Maxwell has been a fan favourite among Homes Under The Hammer viewers since she first appeared on the BBC One series. The 47-year-old started in newspaper journalism at The Sun before branching out into broadcast journalism to present pieces for The One Show and Lorraine.
Martel Maxwell joined the popular property series Homes Under The Hammer in 2017 and has regularly appeared alongside presenters Martin Roberts and Dion Dublin. In fact, she was approached to present the show she was pregnant with her third son.
Off-camera she enjoys a peaceful life with her husband and three children in Scotland at a home she built herself. But what is her life like off the camera and who is she married to?
Who is Martel Maxwell married to?
Martel and Jamie Parret are childhood sweethearts and they first met when they were just five-years-old. However, Martel has since revealed it wasn't until they were teenagers that they started dating.
Martel previously explained: "I had met Jamie when I started school at five and had kissed him when we were teenagers. We never really lost touch and we met up every so often with other friends.
"Eventually, we were both going to a music festival and afterwards I invited him to a party at a friend's house and I suppose you could say we never looked back after that.
"We ended up living in my flat in London and are now married with three gorgeous sons."
It is not when the pair married but the duo live with their three sons Monty, Chester and Guthrie at their stunning home in Dundee. Martel occasionally shares some snippets of her personal life on social media.
The Scottish presenter joined the presenting team of Homes Under The Hammer in 2017 following the departure of original presenter Lucy Alexander.
The Homes Under The Hammer star has since spoken of how when she was approached for the show she was pregnant with her third son. She told Firstime Buyer Magazine: "They knew I had always had an interest in property and even though I was pregnant I got the presenter's job.
"It's such a great role and I love every second of it. The team get on so well and it has a huge following. "I get stopped in the street sometimes and people are so complimentary and are keen to tell me their stories."
The open-plan property has big open windows that offer beautiful views of the Scottish countryside and features solar panels.
Her stylish living room, complete with polished wooden floors and a cosy fireplace, adds warmth to the neutral cream colour scheme. In a photo shared on Instagram, fans got a glimpse of the family's impressive open-plan living area, with a marble coffee table taking centre stage, shining under the light.
Homes Under the Hammer will air from 10am on BBC One.
