Coronation Street's Alina in danger as she's targeted by thugs ahead of court date

Coronation Street theorists could be right about trouble dawning for Alina Pop.

Soap enthusiasts are convinced that heartbreak is on the cards predicting that a death is looming, this after Alina - played by actress Ruxandra Porojnicu - rocked up on the cobbles. Now it would appear that danger could be in the air after Tyrone Dobbs' ex begins to receive menacing calls.

Alina is back on-screens after bidding farewell to Weatherfield three years ago. Before her departure she struck up a brief love affair with car mechanic Tyrone Dobbs who had been in a relationship with Fizz Brown.

Tyrone and Alina's relationship was put under strain after his daughter Hope, started a house fire which led to Alina suffering a miscarriage. After the loss of her baby, Alina put an end to her romance with Tyrone and took off for the airport. Pregnancy rumours swirled after she was spotted boarding her flight while seemingly pregnant, after ordering a tomato juice and caressing her tummy.

But much to everyone's surprise, Alina is back, however claiming to only be in Weatherfield for a brief court appearance and plans to leave once she had provided evidence in a human trafficking case.

Typically, Fizz was the first person to casually bump into Alina in Freshco's car park and was suspicious of her plans from the get-go. As they were chatting, observant Fizz happened to spot a picture of a small child on Alina's phone.

When she quizzed her over the snap, Alina swiftly covered her tracks stating that it was her nephew in the picture. Fizz wasn't buying any of it and took off furiously to inform Tyrone that she believed he had a son.

Despite Tyrone's attempts to clarify the situation with Alina, he was struggling to get hold of her after she'd fled her hotel. However, fortunately for the car mechanic, his mum Cassie Plumber stepped in to assist Tyrone after Alina had phoned for Street Cars taxi for herself and her son.

Cassie drove Alina straight to Tyrone where he confronted her over paternity of the little boy, only for Alina to confess all, that Dorin was his son.

As the trial hangs over them and Alina's departure becomes more imminent, Tyrone becomes desperate to spend as much time with Dorin as possible and decides to stump up the cash for the two of them to stay in a hotel until the trial is over.

With all the problems in the air and custody issues raging on, Alina then starts to receive worrisome calls and believes it could all be to do with the people she is testifying against. But Tyrone has other ideas, thinking his daughter Hope could be behind it all.

He confronts Hope, which leads to an angry outburst, with his daughter now furious that he would hold her in the frame, especially after the fire.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
