BBC Breakfast viewers reportedly "switched off their TVs two minutes into the show," criticizing Sally Nugent and Jon Kay for "talking to viewers at home like children".

On Monday's episode of the BBC chat show, frustrated fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their complaints about Sally, 53, and Jon, 54, and their presenting style.

One irritated viewer claimed: "#bbcbreakfast with Jon Kay and Sally Nugent wouldn't be out of place on CBeebies. They present it as if it's the news for young kids."

Another raged: "#bbcbreakfast this is news for five year olds. Silly Sally using that stupid voice again. This is more like Play School Breakfast TV."

While a third chimed in: "Lasted two minutes on #bbcbreakfast before having to switch off. Just makes me want to vomit. It’s 8am Monday. Liven up and be more positive."

Also featured on the episode was model Chloe Ayling, 27, who shared with the BBC that she is still called a liar seven years after her kidnapping.

Chloe's ordeal began in July 2017 when Lukasz Herba lured her from London to Italy with the promise of a photo shoot. He drugged her and transported her to a remote farmhouse in a holdall bag.

Lukasz threatened to sell her online if she couldn’t provide a $300,000 (£230,000) ransom fee. Six days later, he released her to the British consulate in Milan.

Despite this, Chloe has faced years of scepticism, with people accusing her of faking the abduction, profiting from it, and being involved in a publicity stunt

She expressed: "I feel like my voice was never heard back then and it was really overpowered by negativity on maybe how I dressed or presented myself or the fact I wasn't emotional.

"So I'm glad that it can be just laid out and the facts can be shown visually so that people can understand such a complex story."

Chloe's story is being told in a new six-part BBC series, Kidnapped: The Chloe Ayling Story.

The series, which follows Chloe's experience being kidnapped and the media storm that followed, is based on police interviews, court transcripts and personal accounts - with some scenes created for dramatic purposes.
