BBC star quits after five years as they 'go out with bang' with emotional statement

BBC Radio Birmingham and Black Country star Elise Evans has announced she is stepping down and revealed her final show is just weeks away. Taking to social media she shared snaps from her time at the station and wrote: "I’m leaving @bbcwm.

"What a mad five years! Highs and lows but got to work with some lovely folk and had some brill experiences. Time for some new adventures. Last show is 25 August and we’re going out with a BANG! More info coming soon! For now, Radio WM - thanks for the memories x."

The star was flooded with support from fans who took to the comments to wish her well. @RakeemOmar gushed: "In the same 5 years I’ve had, I’ve watched you achieve so many amazing things there has never been anyone like you Elise & there never will be."

The 34-year-old leaves the channel after recently ticking an item off her broadcasting bucket list.

On July 27 she informed her followers: "This morning I complete the trilogy! The final member of @Busted ticked off the list. @JamesBourne joins me on @bbcwm & @BBCCWR from 10.30!
