Star Wars series Skeleton Crew which stars Jude Law in the lead role has officially got a confirmed release date. The new show will premiere on Disney+ on December 3, meaning fans won't have too long to wait to see it.
The live-action show's plot focuses on four kids lost in the galaxy who are attempting to try and make their way home. Alongside the release date announcement, the streaming platform shared a series of stills depicting the thrilling adventures to come.
Although a trailer is yet to be released, lucky Star Wars enthusiasts got the opportunity to see a glimpse of the series at Star Wars Celebration last year. The short clip provided plenty of teasers and revealed that Jude's character, Jod Na Nawood is in fact a Jedi.
As well as the actor, the new series will also star newcomers Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith and Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the four children.
Ahead of the series airing, Jude said: "I was six years old when this galaxy, this world gripped me, blew my mind.
"And I feel like I've been in preparation ever since. It was a total pleasure, I think one of the highlights was working with the incredible, talented people working behind the scenes. It was a true dream come true."
Fans flocked to Reddit to share their excitement for the release date and first-look posters as one person said: "I'm actually looking forward to this one, more than I was The Acolyte. When they said, "Goonies lost in space," I was like, count me in lol."
Another impressed viewer expressed: "I’m honestly glad there’s a live-action Disney show geared towards kids - they deserve it. I think this looks really cool, bike tassels and all."
Somebody else penned: "I’m beyond excited for this one. Yes it’s about kids. But so is The Goonies and I wouldn’t say that it’s for kids only."
Disney+ now costs as little as £4.99 a month for the Standard with Ads plan, but members can get 12 months for the price of 10 by paying for a year upfront on the Standard or Premium plans.
Disney+ is the only place to stream epic shows including The Bear and Shōgun, plus blockbuster franchises like Star Wars and Marvel.
Yet another commented: "Can't wait! I love star wars. It just feels right to watch some new star wars around Christmas."
A fifth said: "Really looking forward to this. We’ve gotten a lot of adult-oriented Star Wars content in recent years, and I welcome a more lighthearted Goonies type adventure."
While a sixth added: "I will watch anything Star Wars, but this looks really like an entertaining watch and more promise than Acolyte."
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will premiere on Disney+ on December 3.
