GMB: Christine talks about couples going on holiday separately
This week, viewers have seen Christine Lampard stepping into Lorraine Kelly's shoes on her eponymous programme. Earlier today, Christine connected with the Good Morning Britain team to tease the audience about the exciting segments lined up.
Ed Balls eagerly inquired: "What have you got coming up for us Christine?"
Beaming with enthusiasm, Christine replied: "Hello, well, we've got lots for you today. Coming up here, his hot girl summer continues, we'll find out why Tom Cruise's night at the Olympics has got everyone talking. And we're putting your memory to the test and tips to boost it."
Christine then spilled the beans on a segment that delves into the advantages of separate vacations for couples.
"Then, why going on holiday without your partner could be good for your relationship," she announced, reports the Mirror.
Before Ed could probe further, Ranvir Singh chimed in with a playful nudge: "Hang on a minute, Christine, what's going on at home? Come on, you can share. Are you and Frank going on separate holidays?"
Caught off guard, Christine momentarily lost for words before reassuring that she had no personal plans to vacation separately from her spouse, although she suggested viewers might learn otherwise by watching Lorraine later on.
"Weirdly I've never done it and have no intention to but today we're seeing why apparently it could be really good for you so who knows? It's early days," she conceded.
Ranvir responded with a chuckle: "Okay well we'll be listening," as Ed playfully advised: "Don't do it Christine, don't do it."
Christine Lampard, who tied the knot with football legend Frank Lampard in a lavish ceremony back in 2015, shares two children with her husband, Patricia and Freddie, both of whom are kept away from the public eye.
The cringe-worthy incident occurred amidst calls from viewers for a rebranding of the ITV programme 'Lorraine', as the titular host Lorraine Kelly takes her regular breaks. During school holidays, it's not uncommon for Christine, alongside Ranvir Singh and even Louise Minchin, to take the reins of the show.
One user on X the platform formerly known as Twitter expressed their opinion with a tweet: "Lovely woman Christine should be renamed this show and get rid of that Kelly! " Echoing this sentiment, another user commented: "TBH they might as well rename it Christine for as long as she's presenting! Imagine the opening credits.."
Another viewer shared their preference online: "I enjoy #Lorraine more when Christine hosts the show. She's more natural and comes across more genuine."
